Program Overview

DCMC’s Senior Intensive Outpatient Program is a counseling center that assists the senior adults population in restoring emotional and mental well-being. The psychotherapy program is designed to provide outpatient therapy in a comfortable, homelike environment. Patients are provided three group sessions per day with a licensed therapist. A board-certified psychiatrist visits the clinic once per week for medication management and individual sessions.

All services provided by our Senior Intensive Outpatient Program are ordered and reviewed by our physician. Patients participate in the program for approximately three hours, two to four day per week. Services are offered Monday-Friday.
It is our goal to help seniors and their families restore the lifestyles they deserve.

Emotions and Stress

The emotions and stress associated with retirement, changes in finances, loss of loved ones, loneliness and even the physical changes associated with growing older can be overwhelming.

For many, aging can present life changes that often seem impossible to overcome alone. In some cases, the stress of aging can actually overwhelm and disable a person, preventing the performance of even the simplest task. In times like these, DCMC’s Senior Intensive Outpatient Program can help.

DCMC’s Senior Intensive Outpatient Program provides therapeutic groups that allow patients an opportunity to explore and identify positive coping skills in an effort to improve their emotional and mental well-being.

We also provide free transportation within a 40-mile radius to our patients who have no means to attend our program. Transportation is provided by trained drivers in wheelchair accessible vans.
